Each year the results from NCEA Level One and Two are reviewed. The top six to eight candidates, in terms of the number of credits and endorsements to Merit or Excellence, are recognised. In 2015 it was extremely pleasing to be able to award more students that had achieved endorsement as the level of success had raised significantly. These students are publicly celebrated for their achievement with the award of an academic blue at senior prize giving.
Students who achieve highly in NCEA Level 1 and Level 2 are identified as prestigious Academic Blues recipients. In 2015 the results for Taieri College NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 were outstanding. At Year 13, Taieri College supports students working towards Scholarship or striving for Excellence through the Dunedin Scholarship tutorials. Selected senior students may be able to undertake first year University papers during their college year.
